It’s going to be a busy week for me. Although with me doing anything makes it a busy week.
Today, I had a follow up Zoom appointment with my main fertility doctor. When I started my last IUI cycle, they told me to schedule with her to talk next steps if I’m not pregnant.
It went well, I think. She told me that if this doesn’t work, our next steps if IVF. Which apparently has a 50% chance of pregnancy happening rather than the 15% of what I’m currently doing. It makes you wonder why they don’t just go straight to IVF, but I learned it’s a lot more annoying than the IUI. There will be more medications, and I may even have to take a daily injection. With IUI, they only look for me to have 1-3 follicles ready, but IVF needs 10-15. Then there would be the surgery to remove the eggs so that they can fertilize them. They go through a couple of processes and we lose some during that.
Still, it’s nice to know that next steps involve better odds. I have my pregnancy test on Friday, so I still have my fingers crossed. It would just be nice for this to finally happen for me.
The doctor was pleased that I’ve been losing weight, so that’s something positive, I guess.
On Thursday, my husband and I settle on the house we’re buying. We won’t be able to move in until, like, August. The current owners are having a house built and it won’t be ready until July 31, but they are going to be paying us $100 a day in rent while they’re still staying there.
I can go more into house adventures in another post. All that has been moving quicker than we thought it would.
